A woman stands motionless
At the end of the road
Whispering words that hang in the
Air like smoke
I am listening
My face aghast
Tears trail down her face
As she talks about her past
There are so many things
I wish I could change
I wish I could take away
Her hurt and her pain
The things she says
I will never forget
But I'm so glad
That we have met
God says that we must be
The light
To those who are struggling
And are in plight
Because life is short
But death is not
If you don't
Belong to God
I open my mouth
And bless her with my words
I tell her that God can
Take away her hurt
She is crying out
As she falls to her knees
Praising God
For all she sees
Asking for forgiveness
For all she's done
She receives the love
Of God, the Spirit and the Son
As she prays her final words
I lift my hands to the sky
I promise not to forget her
As she waves goodbye
His love is stronger
Than anything we know
Always remember that
He loves us so.
